I know a lot of women who want to leave the corporate world and start their own businesses. They want to enjoy the freedom of choosing when and where to work. They also want to personally attend to their children's needs. However, they cannot pursue with their plans because they do not know what type of business they should get into or what business will fit their personality.

1. Virtual Assistant - This business is excellent for women who are experts in creating and formatting Word documents, spread sheets and Power Point presentations. Virtual assistants, also known as VAs, also do email marketing, social media, blogging, and loading autoresponders. VAs work on their computers most of the time.

2. Freelance Writer – If you have the knack in writing and enjoy playing with words, make use of this talent to earn some money for yourself and for the family. You can create an account on sites like oDesk, Elance, and Freelancer so that your services will be known to others.

There are freelance writers who contribute to magazines and newspapers. While others create reports, copy write ads, write press releases and other special projects for businesses, some freelance writers ghost write for blogs or create their own blog.

3. Caterer – Do your family, friends and neighbors always ask you for menu ideas and yummy recipes? Can you make new, delicious and fun dishes in an instant? Do you enjoy hosting parties so that you can prepare and showcase your amazing food? Catering is an excellent business idea for moms and women who like to cook, bake and prepare yummy food. Specialize on a specific niche like birthday parties, weddings, baptismal, or office gatherings and the business will surely be a hit!

4. Home Daycare Provider – If you love kids, a daycare business is a perfect fit for you! You can get paid while watching your own kids and taking care of someone else’s. Your kids will also have the chance to socialize and play with other kids. Hitting two birds with one stone, isn't it?
